Peoples Advocacy Society

Peoples Advocacy is a community organisation that offers FREE advice and assistance to people with immediate welfare concerns and other issues with government agencies such as Work & Income, IRD and StudyLink.

What can I get help with?

A team of highly-skilled volunteer advocates offer empathy, expert advice and practical support to individuals that may feel frustrated or confused by government agencies and/or welfare processes.

Peoples Advocacy Society is a FREE service and can help people with the following:

  • Understanding what assistance is available to you
  • If you are not receiving the financial assistance you are legally entitled to
  • Support in your relationship with Work and Income and other agencies
  • Help because your income is not keeping up with the cost of living
  • Clarity on what your rights and entitlements are before going to your Work and Income appointment
