Over 40 years ago, Ian and Shirley Duthie had a calling to work in Central Hawke’s Bay. They bought a home and made their base in Otane.

Pleroma Trust, as it was initially known, has been operating since July 1978 although informal work was done prior to the formation of the Trust.

The name Pleroma has two meanings: “To make whole again.” & “In the fullness of Christ.”

Pleroma has gone through a few changes over the years and one of them has been a name change – from Pleroma Trust to Pleroma Social Services.
