Bringing Style to Charity Retail

On Monday July 2nd 2018 Napier Family Centre opened its doors to our first Charity Shop at 301 Gloucester Street, Taradale.

Charity shops and op-shops have really come into their own in recent years, as people become more budget and environmentally conscious.

Napier Family Centre’s charity shop focuses on quality product offerings including fashion, homewares, children’s items and small furniture. The Hawke’s Bay op shopper has a particular interest in all things Art Deco and vintage so we often have a great selection of these items too.

The money raised from Napier Family Centre’s charity shop goes back into supporting local children and families through our social services.

Napier Family Centre has many programmes that rely totally on donations and grants rather than government funding. Some of these services like a bread run fly well under the radar but are absolutely essential. We are not a crisis centre, but our origins in the Christian faith remain steadfast and ensure no one is left feeling hopeless.

The charity shop is largely run by the support of a dedicated team of volunteers who work flat out sorting, cleaning and preparing, with care, every item donated ready for sale. We are so grateful for the amazing team we have and encourage anyone wanting to give back to their community to get in touch, we have a job for everyone!

Donations of goods can be conveniently dropped off in store, there’s even a loading zone on Symonds Lane where you can pull up right outside the back door.

The shop hours are Monday – Friday 9.30am – 4.30pm and Saturday 9.30-1pm.

If you would like to volunteer to help in the Charity Shop then please get in touch with us by filling out our Volunteer Form.
